Combining Remote Support with XR presents immense possibilities, offering a powerful tool for various applications. One example is leveraging Augmented Reality (AR) to showcase the Digital Twin within your office environment while explaining machine issues.

Here's how you can utilize Augmented Reality (AR) with the Digital Twin during a Remote Support Call:

Remote Support (Mobile) - AR

During a Remote Support session placement of the model inside the room:

  1. initiate a Remote Support Call

  2. Invite the participant to join the call

  3. The participant, intending to display the Digital Twin, minimizes the call.

  4. In frontline.io app select the relevant Digital Twin

  5. Launch the Digital Twin and press the AR button.

  6. Choose the dynamic mode for AR.

  7. Place the Digital Twin in the real environment.

  8. Click on the placement option.

  9. Open the camera within the call to share the screen and showcase the Digital Twin.

Note: Both participants can simultaneously share different Digital Twins.

Remote Support (Mobile) - MR

When placing the Digital Twin on the actual machine

(requires: Defined anchoring points on the Digital Twin for tracking)

  1. Start a Remote Support Call

  2. Invite the participant to join you the call

  3. The participant, aiming to present the Digital Twin, minimizes the call.

  4. In frontline.io app select the relevant Digital Twin

  5. Launch the Digital Twin and press the AR button.

  6. Select object mode for MR

  7. Perform the tracking

  8. Click placement option

  9. Open the camera within the call to share the screen and exhibit the Digital Twin.

Annotations

Utilize available annotations such as drawing, beacon, and arrow options during the Remote Support call while showcasing the Digital Twin. To read more about annotations: see our article: Remote Support - Annotations

Highlights

Additionally, on mobile devices during a call, a long tap on a part in the Digital Twin will highlight that particular part, providing enhanced visibility and focus.
