Introduction

Experience immersive mixed reality with the frontline App for HoloLens 2 and Magic Leap 2. Interact naturally using hand gestures. This guide explores supported gestures for enhanced virtual adventures. Unlock the power of your fingertips in the world of mixed reality.

Hand Gestures

  1. Air Tap Gesture

The air tap gesture is your primary interaction gesture. Simply extend your index finger and make a tapping motion in the air to select or interact with holograms and user interface elements. Use the air tap gesture to confirm actions, activate buttons, or trigger specific interactions within the frontline App.

  2. Move Gesture

The moving gesture allows you to interact with and reposition windows or objects within a given area. Start by performing an air tap gesture on a window or object to select it. Once selected, keep your finger pressed on the window and then move your hand to change its position within the defined area. This gesture enables you to rearrange and organize virtual content according to your preference.

  3. Swipe Gesture

Navigate through menus, scroll through lists, or switch between screens using the swipe gesture. Extend your index finger and perform a swiping motion in the air, either horizontally or vertically. This intuitive gesture enables you to explore content, browse options, or navigate different sections of the frontline App.

  4. Near-Select Gesture

The near-select gesture allows you to interact with buttons or elements in close proximity. Extend your hand towards the desired button or object, and gently touch or press it using your fingertip. This gesture provides a more tactile and precise way to interact with virtual buttons, enabling you to trigger specific actions or access additional features within the frontline App.

  5. Rotate Hand Menu Gesture

To access a side menu with additional app features, lift your second hand and turn it back towards you. This gesture triggers the appearance of a side menu, which you can navigate by using the air tap or the near-select gestures with your other hand. The side menu provides convenient access to various app functionalities, such as menu lock-off and object detection for your digital twin.

  6. Expand/Shrink Gesture

This allows you to dynamically control the size of windows or media elements.

By performing an air tap gesture with both hands at the center of the desired content and then spreading your hands apart, you can expand the window. Bringing your hands closer together will shrink the window. This gesture provides dynamic control over the size of the content, ensuring a customized and immersive viewing experience.

Remember that while these hand gestures are specific to the frontline App for HoloLens 2 and Magic Leap 2, they serve as a foundation for interacting with mixed-reality experiences. It's essential to consult the app's documentation for any additional or custom gestures that may be supported.
