Getting Started: User Access and Publishing Flows

Getting Started: User Access and Publishing Flows

Step 6: User Access and Publishing Flows

The Interactive Flows are finalized and ready to be published. In Step 6, the focus is on user access and the publication of interactive Flows. frontline.io provides various options for users to access content, including the web, frontline.io applications, links, and QR codes. However, before publishing the content, it is necessary to assign it to the appropriate role.

User Access

At the interactive flow level, published content is accessible to all users by default. If you remove the selection for that particular role, the flow will not be visible for that particular role.
  • Edit Settings - specific role - remove the selection

  • Collaboration - bottom page - open the relevant role - (un)select the folder or flow

User levels are applicable when users have a registered account on frontline.io.
However, frontline.io also provides the option to share content with guests, who do not need to register to access the content.
This option is often used when the content is viewed in a Learning Management System or when it is shared with a large number of users.
Further details on the guest option can be found in the article: Pay-Per-Session on the frontline.io website.
For sharing a link within a Learning Management System - see article: Interconnecting frontline.io to docebo (LMS)

Publishing

Published content is visible to guests and the specific roles granted access to the content.

Unpublished Flows

Unpublished content is available to (Advanced) Content Creators only.

Notes
Note: In the PC App unpublished content is shown only when the Unpublished option is selected.
PC App - Knowledge Base - Digital Twin - Procedures - Show Unpublished

Publish the Flow

Published flows can be viewed in either 2D, 3D, or both.
If you select the "both" option, the viewer can choose their preferred format. If the flow is viewed in 3D, it's important to ensure that the relevant 3D Digital Twin is connected to the flow.
Publish - add changes (if relevant) - Publish

Once the flow has been published, there are various ways to share it with others, including sharing links and QR codes. These options allow users to easily access the published content via the web or mobile devices.
For more information on these sharing options, you can refer to the article: End Users Access Options to Content and information specifically on QR Codes: Publish Content with a QR Code
