Animation Builder - Finishing your Animation

Animation Builder - Finishing your Animation

Introduction

You are approaching the finish line in the animation builder, but there are still a few important steps to complete before wrapping up your project. In this article, we will delve into the final touches needed to perfect your animation, including naming your animation and exploring two additional features: "Hide" and "Highlight."

Naming You Animation

As we near the end of this creative journey, it's essential to assign a name to your animation. This serves an organizational purpose, ensuring that when you return to work on your project or integrate it into your workflow, you can easily identify the correct animation. While the end user may not see this name, it's crucial to choose a clear and distinctive name to avoid any confusion, especially if you have multiple similar animations.

Hide and Highlight

Now, let's explore the two exciting features you can incorporate into your animation: "Hide" and "Highlight."

Hide Parts After Animation

Enabling this checkbox allows you to automatically conceal the animated components at the end of the animation sequence. This feature prevents distracting floating elements from cluttering your scene after the animation has concluded. It ensures a seamless transition and enhances the overall user experience.

Highlight Animated Parts

This option provides you with the ability to make your animated elements stand out by adding a captivating glow effect. This enhancement helps users distinguish between moving and static elements within your animation.

Furthermore, you have the flexibility to choose between a dynamic pulsating effect by selecting the "Flashing" checkbox or keeping the highlight steady for a more subtle appearance.

Saving Your Animation

As we reach the culmination of this journey, it's time to preserve your hard work by saving your animation. You can find the "Save Animation" button conveniently located at the bottom of your screen.

Clicking this button will initiate the saving process and prompt you with a popup containing three essential options for your next steps:

1. Create New with the Same Setup

Selecting this option will refresh your scene while retaining the final state of your previewed animation. For instance, if you had opened a cabinet door in the initial steps, using this button will preserve the door in its open position. This allows you to focus on animating the components inside the cabinet without any interference from previous waypoints.

2. Create New

Opting for this choice will start a completely new animation with a clean slate. All parts of the digital twin will be reset to their default positions, ready for you to embark on a fresh creative journey.

3. Continue Editing

If you're not quite ready to wrap up your current animation and wish to refine it further, this option is for you. Select "Continue Editing" to polish and perfect your existing animation, making any necessary adjustments to achieve your desired results.

Conclusion

As you approach the final stages of your animation project, remember to:

  1. Name Your Animation: Give it a clear and distinctive name for better organization.

  2. Use "Hide" and "Highlight": Enhance your animation with the "Hide" feature to tidy up after the animation, and the "Highlight" feature to make moving parts stand out.

  3. Save Your Animation: Use the "Save Animation" button. You can choose to keep the current setup, start fresh, or continue editing as needed.

With these steps, you'll create a polished and engaging animation. Happy animating!
